Holy crap, it's a white Christmas in West Seattle -- it just started snowing.

For those of you who aren't local to us, Seattle has been hit by a massive wind storm which has resulted in power outages across half the city. About a million people are without power in the Puget Sound region, 170,000 in Seattle proper, including us.

As of about 01:30 Pacific time this morning, any services or hardware we're hosting are off the air. We have no ETA on when power will be restored, and chances are we will be more focused on getting heat and hot water back in operation before we look at the server farm.

This outage affects all of our domains and services: Midgard.org, Epiglyph.com, Invitotron.com, sixmoredegrees.com, the Invitotron, MidgardMOO, DownMOO, Cyborg Folly, and probably several dozen other things I'm forgetting.

Found car!

Re: this post

If you're local to Seattle and see a white Subaru with Washington license plate PILOT, please don't call the police. [livejournal.com profile] airlinepilot's car has been found by King County Sheriffs, and as of this moment he's on his way to pick it up.

And there was much rejoicing. (Yay!)

If you're local to Seattle and see a white Subaru with Washington license plate PILOT, please call the police immediately. [livejournal.com profile] airlinepilot's car has been stolen from his condo in West Seattle.

Update 09/27: Car found! Please don't call the cops, or [livejournal.com profile] airlinepilot will be very unhappy.

Some of you on my friends list may have less-than-stellar opinions about the Seattle Police Department, but two cops saved my boss's life last week.

Not all of them are pigs, y'know.

Over the air on NPR this morning was a report that the owner of Cafe Septieme fired the manager for not forcing the staff to work during yesterday's protest marches. The PI confirms the story.

The owner's name? Victor Santiago.

It seems the rapid decline in quality caught up to Bacchus, our once-beloved Capitol Hill destination for flaming cheese. The most recent issue of The Stranger has a review of its replacement, Fork. It sounds rather a lot more prissy than the previous tenant's Greek menu, but if nothing else, they kept the murals.

P.S. - They serve GOOSE!

Who wants to go with me next week to try Seattle's only Peruvian restaurant sometime next week? [livejournal.com profile] datavore is a big sissybritches who doesn't want to try new food.

As of today, I have lived in Seattle for seven years, and have lived at [livejournal.com profile] nerdvana for six.

My favorite house on Capitol Hill is on the market again. Come to find out, it's even bigger than I thought -- 11 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, 9000+ square feet.

So... Anyone want to move back to Capitol Hill (the one in Seattle)? It's only ten THOUSAND dollars a month.
